KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd launched its new Proton Saga FLX 1.3L yesterday, a new model enhancement to its Proton Saga model which provides consumers with greater savings on fuel consumption and a smoother drive with the use of continuously variable transmission (CVT) technology.


In a statement yesterday, the national car manufacturer said Proton Saga had been its best selling model in the country in the first six months of this year, making Proton the overall market leader in Malaysia in the first half.

In the first six months of 2011 Proton sold 39,841 units of Proton Saga compared with 37,840 sold in the same period last year.

The car boasts an outstanding sales record, with over 250,000 units registered and over 300,000 units booked since its launch in January until June 201. The new Saga FLX 1.3L is priced between RM38,598 and RM44,998.
